The Steminist Program is an initiative designed to empower young women in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). Through hands-on workshops, mentorship, and scholarships, we are helping women gain the skills, confidence, and opportunities to thrive in STEM careers.

What We Do:

Workshops

We offer workshops in key STEM areas like coding, data analysis, and engineering. These interactive sessions provide young women with the foundational skills needed to pursue careers in technology, engineering, and other STEM fields.

Networking & Mentorship

Our program connects participants with experienced female leaders in STEM. Through networking events and one-on-one mentorship, we help young women navigate their career paths and secure valuable industry insights.

Internship & Employment Opportunities

Top applicants will have the unique chance to secure internships and potential employment with leading organizations. These opportunities provide hands-on experience, industry insights, and a platform to launch their careers in a competitive environment.

Empower Is Our Main Goal

Our Goals:

  • Train 300 young women across Ghana in key STEM skills, empowering them to pursue careers in tech, engineering, and other STEM-related fields.
  • Provide mentorship and internships to 50 young women, helping them gain practical experience and guidance from industry professionals.
  • Increase female representation in STEM by 10% over the next five years, ensuring more women are in leadership positions and driving change in the sector. According to Deheer.E, 2023, women occupy just 25% of all jobs in STEM in Ghana. The pursuit of STEM-related subjects by girls in Ghana is considerably lower than boy

STEMINIST DATA ANYLYTICS TRAINING

Across Africa, the demand for digital and data skills is growing rapidly, yet many young people lack access to practical, industry-relevant training that prepares them for emerging roles. Data analytics is one of the most in-demand skills globally, supporting sectors such as finance, health, agriculture, governance, and technology.
At the same time, the rise of artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming how data is processed, analyzed, and communicated. However, access to hands-on training that integrates both data analytics and AI tools remains limited, particularly for early-career youth.

Expected Outcomes
By the end of the program:

  • 30–40 youth trained in practical data analytics skills
  • At least 80% of participants complete a portfolio-ready project
  • Participants develop dashboards and data reports
  • Improved readiness for internships, entry-level roles, or freelance opportunities
  • To train 30–40 women in core data analytics concepts and tools
  • Build practical skills in data cleaning, analysis, SQL, and data visualization
  • Introduce participants to AI tools that enhance productivity and analysis
  • Support participants to develop a portfolio-ready project

The training will run over seven days and combine theory, demonstrations, and intensive hands-on practice.
Key learning areas will include:

  • Introduction to Data Analytics & AI in Analytics
  • Data Cleaning and Preparation
  • Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA)
  • SQL for Data Querying
  • Data Visualization (Power BI/Tableau)
  • End-to-End Group Project
  • Career Development and Personal Branding
    Participants will work in teams to complete a real-world dataset project and present dashboards and insights at the end of the programme.
